I have been watching and also taking part in some racial things occuring in my surroundings. That’s when I recognised that racist people are not constructing our country but demolishing and literally destroying our lovely Mzantsi. We (the mzantsi nation) are not just spoiling our present generation but the upcoming generation as well.
What moved me to write this story is my 7-year old nephew, who just said “malume ndiyamcaphukela umlungu” (uncle I hate a white person). I was so shocked and tried my very best to change what he was thinking. He asked me “why did they want to kill tata Madiba”. I explained telling him that, that was then, South Africa is now new.
Hatred because of the colour of the skin is just selfishness, greediness, or even stupidity if I may say. We all belong in this same Rainbow Nation (whether you are black, white, coloured, pink, green or whatever). In order for our country to be a booming one in every aspect we must remove that dirty and unholy sense of racism when seeing someone of other different race.
It is so disapointing and embarrasing to see that our media is also promoting this bad habit. I make the previous statement under Nomakula ‘Kuli’ Robert’s (South African TV personality and columnist) perspective, as she wrote a very racist column directed to coloured people.
It takes an open mind to be colorblind.
You don’t still own a black and white tv, so why see the world that way?
